Twenty-eight CASS athletes competed at NOSSA Track and Field Wed. and Thurs. May 25-26 at Laurentian University in Sudbury. Despite rain and 5C temperatures Thurs., 4 athletes managed to qualify for OFSAA June 2-4 in Sudbury. Rob GAllinger won the Sr. Boys Aggregate title with 2 others for his first place finish in High Jump ( a new PB at 1.92m), 2nd place in Triple Jump, and 3rd place finish in Long Jump. Karissa Barbarie tied for 2nd place Jr. Girls Aggregate for her first place finish in Long Jump, and her second place finish in 200m, and 3rd place finish in the 100m. Sam Good also tied for third place Jr. Boys Aggregate for his 2nd place finish in Javelin and the 300m hurdles, and 4th place in the 110m hurdles. Midget boy Brandon Shawana placed 2nd in the Javelin. The team placed 11th overall amongst 38 teams, the highest of all the NSSSA schools.
