Shawn Struik rowed an incredible 1.22:1 500m today on the concept 2 breaking a school record!!!  His time was ranked on the Concept 2 website which shows worldwide results.  Great job Shawn! UNREAL!

Huskies Win City Title!!

Huskies win game three and make history as the first CASS team to win the Sault Ste. Marie High School Hockey City Championships!!!  The Huskies put the Saints away 5-1 in a dominant performance!!!!  Way to go Huskies!!

What Are You Doing Saturday??

The CASS Huskies Hockey team dropped game 2 of the best of 3 City Finals series by a score of 3-2 to the St. Basils Saints. With the loss, the series is now tied at a game a piece with the third and deciding game set to go Saturday afternoon at 5:30 at the Rhodes arena. It was nice to see so many community members, students (past and present) and staff members at the game last night, and if you have the time, it would be great to have you there on Saturday which will be the final game in the area for the boys. We definitely have the best fans in the league! Go Huskies go!

 

Jr. Boys Basketball Claim 2nd at NOSSA

The CASS Jr. Boys Basketball team had a great weekend placing 2nd in the NOSSA basketball championship tournament.  The boys lost a heartbreaker in the finals losing 51 - 58 to the St. Benedict's Bears.  Congratulations on a great season boys!

The boys' basketball teams went 2-0 yesterday at home against the WCE Royals......  Check out some of the cool pics from the game in the album on the right hand side of the page.

 

Husky Hockey News

A solid team effort and a spectacular game by Zack McPhee and Kurt Barbarie led the Huskies to a much deserved victory over the St. Basil Saints, last night in High School Hockey action. Both McPhee and Barbarie had 3 goal / 2 assist nights to lead the way to an 8-5 win. Seth Campbell and Mike Linley rounded out the scoring for the Huskies who led by 1-0 after the first and 5-3 after the second before opening up an 8-3 lead in the third. With the win the Huskies find themselves in sole possession of first place with 9 games remaining in the regular season. Great job boys.

 

The Huskies play the Korah Colts on Tuesday at 3:30 at the McMeekan before taking a few days off for the Christmas Break.

 

Hockey News

Game 1

The CASS Huskies Hockey Team squeaked out a victory over Superior Heights Steelhawks Friday afternoon. The boys needed a shootout to seal the win after the Steelhawks tied the game late in the third. Kurt Barbarie and Brysin Shaw scored in regulation time while Barbarie again found the net in the shootout. Kyle Morris stopped all three Superior Heights shooters in the extra frame.

Game 2

After finding themselves in a big hole, down 3-0 after the first period, Mike Linleys 2 goals and 2 assists led the Huskies Hockey team back to victory last night vs the Korah Colts. Linleys 2^nd goal of the night came with just over 2 minutes left in the third to secure the 5-4 win. Also scoring for the Huskies were Zack McPhee, Keith Mlls, and Mitchell Seabrook. Kurt Barbarie added three assists in the winning cause.

 

Next action for the Huskies is Wednesday at 3:30 when they take on the Superior Heights Steelhawks at the Rhodes arena.

Huskies Regain Form

The Huskies Hockey Team found themselves back on the winning side of things last night with a 5-2 victory over the Korah Colts. Leading the way for the Huskies was Kurt Barbarie with 2 power play goals and an assist. Rounding out the scoring was Mike Linley, Matt Jones and Brysin Shaw with the game winner. With the win the Huskies push their record to 6 wins and 2 loses.

 

Next action is Friday night when they face the same Korah Colts. Game time is 7:30 at the Rhodes arena.
