Huskies Win City Title!!

Huskies win game three and make history as the first CASS team to win the Sault Ste. Marie High School Hockey City Championships!!!  The Huskies put the Saints away 5-1 in a dominant performance!!!!  Way to go Huskies!!

What Are You Doing Saturday??

The CASS Huskies Hockey team dropped game 2 of the best of 3 City Finals series by a score of 3-2 to the St. Basils Saints. With the loss, the series is now tied at a game a piece with the third and deciding game set to go Saturday afternoon at 5:30 at the Rhodes arena. It was nice to see so many community members, students (past and present) and staff members at the game last night, and if you have the time, it would be great to have you there on Saturday which will be the final game in the area for the boys. We definitely have the best fans in the league! Go Huskies go!

 

CASS Huskies Win Game #1

The CASS Huskies hockey team moved one step closer to the league championship last night with a 4-3 victory over the St. Basil Saints in game 1 of the City Finals. A strong defensive game and solid goaltending by Kyle Morris paved the way for the Huskies who led by period scores of 2-0 and 4-2. Finding the net for the Huskies were Kurt Barbarie with 2 and Mike Linley and Matt Jones with singles. Game 2 in the best of three series goes Tuesday night at 7:30 at the Rhodes arena. Come out and see the Huskies in what could be their last local game of the season.

 

 

Hockey Finals Are Set!!!

 

The High School Hockey League Finals are set:

 

CASS HUSKIES vs St. Basil Saints

 

Game #1 Sunday, Feb 26 - 7:30 pm Rhodes

 

Game #2 Tuesday, Mar 1 - 7:30 pm Rhodes

 

Game #3 (if nec) Saturday Mar 5 - 5:30 pm Rhodes

 

This is a great accomplishment for the boys and only the second time in team history that they have made it to the finals.

 

The Huskies won the season series with St. Basil with a record of 3 wins and 2 losses.

 

Come out and support your Huskies if you are able.

 

Hockey Semi Finals Tonight!

Hockey Semi-finals start tonight: (Feb. 18)

 

Game time: 6:30 pm

 

Location: Rhodes 2

 

Opponent: Korah Colts

 

Note: League awards are handed out tonight after the game.

Hockey News

Although the Junior Hockey game was less than satisfying, the Huskies hockey team did not disappoint as they took on the White Pines Wolverines. After getting off to a slow start and falling behind 1-0 the Huskies quickly rebounded, shaking off the rust from the Holidays and put together a decisive 7-4 victory. Zack McPhee led the way with three goals, while Kurt Barbarie and Seth Campbell rounded out the scoring with two goals each.

 

Next action for the Huskies is tomorrow afternoon when they take on the St. Mary’s Knights. Game time is 4:30 at the Desbarats Arena. Arrange your rides now and get out and watch the boys in this epic battle for 1^st place.
