Athletic Banquet 2011

 
Congratulations CASS on a very successfull year in athletics.  The celebration of this event took place on Thurs. Jun. 9 and Kate Beaulieu has now taken the title of "Spearchucker" from last year's recipient, Mr. Reid, for her "peeping" incident that happened in the showers after a wrestling tournament.  Kate was also honoured the previous evening at the ACT Awards Banquet in the Sault as the "Outstanding Female Athlete in Wrestling".  This was the first time this award was given out recognizing Girls Wrestling at the Girls Athletic Banquet and Kate is now the first in both Sault and CASS athletic history to have this honour.  Team awards were given out next, followed by individual awards and Athletes of the Year.  The following are the individual winners:

Corrine Landon Manager of the Year:  Joni Phillips

Curtis Ford Perseverance Award: Kate Beaulieu

Josh Brockelbank SAA Leadership Award: Rob Gallinger

Frame of Fame Inductees:  The Hockey Coaching Staff; Donna Schell & Brent Rankin of the N.S. Sentinel

Colin Hood OFSAA School Sport Awards: Rob Gallinger and Shaylene Kern

Int. Girls Athlete of the Year: Karissa Barbarie (repeat winner!)

Int. Boys Athlete of the Year: Sam Good

Sr. Girls Athlete of the Year: Caray Ford and Nichole Kinzel (co-winners)

Sr. Boys Athlete of the year: Kurtis Barbarie (marking the first time ever that a mother, father and son have made in on the gym wall-no pressure Karissa!:)

Athletic Banquet June 9th

Hey Everyone, 

Our  Athletic Awards Night will be  held Thursday, June 9th, 2011 from 6:15 pm to 8:30 pm.

 This is an evening to honour not only your son's/daughter's accomplishments but that of his/her teammates.  This is also an opportunity to meet the coaches and have input into the athletic program.

 A seven course buffet style dinner will commence at 6:15 pm.  The charge for the dinner is $8 per person.  Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available through your son/daughter.  Your son's/daughter's ticket has been paid for.  Dress is semi-formal - no jeans or hats please.

 Dinner includes:                     BREAD & BUTTER, SALAD BAR

                                              BAKED POTATO, ROAST CHICKEN

                                              PASTA, MEATBALLS

                                              DESSERT

                                              COFFEE, TEA, JUICE

 

We are very proud of your son's/daughter's accomplishments and of our athletic program which strives to promote growth, character, determination and teamwork.  Please plan to attend this special  evening.
