There were still revellers in the streets of Vancouver well into the night last night and judging by fellow ferry passengers this morning, most of them attended. We caught a 5:45am ferry to Victoria on Vancouver Island, rode a double-decker bus around and visited a castle and of course the Hudson Bay store where every Olympic thing is already marked down 40%! We saw the tallest free standing totem pole, a paralympic rugby game going on in front of the Parliament Building, the Empress Hotel where they serve high tea, and a Chinatown back alley where they used to deal opium. The scenery is amazing here and it was so clear today we could see the Olympic Mountains in Washington across the strait. We didn't see any whales (except the painted ones!) or seals on our ferry crossing but we did find a gold medal chocolate apple!
