As part of the Cultural Olympiad in Whistler, an outdoor theatre production debuted for the month of February at Lost Lake cross country ski trails in honour of the Winter Games. We attended this show called "Nix" last night and although it was a wet, rainy night, the show took place in an outdoor tent shaped like an igloo and the chairs all had sheepskin seat pads and lap blankets so we were warm and dry. The show was great and started with cookies and hot chocolate served in the ice bar and then we were escorted by flame blowing tuba and trumpet players into the theatre. The play was set in a frozen iceland complete with an ice and snow stage,a snow slide and icicles hanging from the roof-very cool!
