The junior boys basketball team improved their record to 1-1 with a 41 to 38 victory in the Husky gymnasium on Tuesday. The team put together a great first quarter, 20-10, but lost their shooting touch in the second quarter and they stumbled into the locker room with a 20-14 lead. The teams changed leads several times in the second half but pulled it together to capture the win. The team was lead offensively by Paul Charlevoix and Mark Schmidt with 8 points each.
The senior team followed the juniors with a victory of their own, even with a depleted team. The team came together and stepped up to the challenge to help fill the void of three key senior players sitting for disciplinary reasons. The Huskies trailed at halftime 26-22 but came out playing great team defense and outscored their opponent 14-7 in the 3rd quarter. The extended their lead in the 4th and won 48-39 when the final buzzer sounded. The team was lead by Justin Roberts' 16 points.
Both teams are on the road on Thursday when they face Espanola.
